Ronald’s coming to Scone

Scone McDonalds (from Hunter Valley Newsroom/2NM 981)

They’ve been talking about getting a McDonalds in Scone for years now, and finally it’s happening.

It will be on the outskirts of town though, so it will more than likely aim for the travellers (as will the Red Rooster and petrol station) rather than townsfolk I’d imagine. At least it’ll bring more jobs into the town, so that can only be a good thing.

More from the Scone Horse Festival Parade

In addition to NBN’s story on the parade, I found this video montage of the event set to Robert Miles’ “Fable”. Nicely done!

Scone Horse Festival videos

Memories of the Civic Theatre

Back in the day, when the Scone Civic was up and going, they played this clip at the start of each session. I have since tracked this down online at a site called FilmTech , which lists it as a generic policy trailer used quite widely, notably with a US chain called Cinema West. Sadly, the Civic isn’t being used for movies any more, but at least the owners are planning to give the place a coat of paint (according to ABC Upper Hunter).
